Not legal or financial advice. This page is not a substitute for your processor dispute console, card-network reason codes, acquirer playbooks, a licensed attorney, or your judgment. It describes a merchant ritual: use Pingpong to write an evidence narrative when a dispute looks like friendly fraud or first-party misuse. Nothing here coaches cardholders on filing disputes, inventing unauthorized claims, or keeping goods they reverse.
A chargeback arrives stamped fraud or unauthorized. Ops mutters "friendly fraud." Support remembers the customer logged in after delivery. Finance sees the fee. One model already wrote a scolding letter about buyers who reverse charges after they open the box. The submit button still wants a mapped narrative and attachments a reviewer can skim. That is the moment this page is for.
People searching friendly fraud chargeback response, first-party misuse dispute rebuttal, or how merchants respond to friendly fraud usually get outrage templates. Outrage is not evidence. This page is narrower. It treats friendly fraud / first-party misuse as a merchant evidence narrative: show authorized use, receipt or access, and what the buyer could have done, without calling the cardholder a criminal in the console field.
This is distinct from respond to a fraud claim (broader unauthorized / stolen-card ritual) and from compelling evidence for chargebacks (pack language for any code). Friendly fraud / first-party misuse is the social pattern where the cardholder or household used the goods and still disputes. Primary writing ritual: write your dispute description. CASE MAKER letterhead PDF path (first PDF free, then $9/PDF or 5-pack $29 when export ships): win disputes. Related liability context: 3DS liability shift disputes. Hub: dispute cases. Buyer-side pause: before you file a chargeback.
Use Pingpong to write your dispute description. Paste the reason code, order facts, proof of delivery or digital access, login or usage logs, customer chats that show the buyer knew the purchase, refund or cancel attempts, and the deadline. Default chain: Grok, then Perplexity, then ChatGPT, then Gemini, then Claude. Later labs challenge soft "they are lying" claims, missing receipt proof, and tone that lectures the cardholder. Brand: Pingpong at pingpongit.com. Not getpingpong.ai.

Pays-for-itself framing: defending one mid-ticket friendly-fraud-shaped dispute you would otherwise accept can cover a long stretch of Plus. No win-rate promises. Evidence quality only.
Friendly fraud is a social pattern, not a magic reason code
Issuers do not always stamp "friendly fraud" on the notice. You get fraud, unauthorized, not received, or not as described, and your ops read of the case says the same household that ordered also opened, used, or logged into the product. The response still has to answer the code on the case, not the slang in Slack.
What usually breaks first-party misuse replies: calling the buyer a scammer without delivery or access proof; treating label-created as delivered; uploading internal Slack notes the buyer never saw; ignoring a family-member-used-the-card reality you cannot prove; missing the reply window while drafting outrage; mixing product-not-received rants into an unauthorized code.
Hard line: legitimate merchant defense of real sales only. If the charge was wrong, or you cannot honestly show receipt or authorized use, refund and close. Do not run fiction through the chain. No coaching to deny valid unauthorized claims.
The merchant ritual before Submit on a friendly-fraud-shaped case
Read the reason code and the processor checklist. Gather what you can prove: delivery confirmation to the address on file, signature or photo where relevant, login or usage logs for digital goods, IP or device notes you are allowed to store, prior customer history that is real, cancel or refund attempts, policy language the buyer saw, chats that show the buyer recognized the order. Restate the claim in the cardholder's words. Draft a short dispute description that answers the claim without insult. Run Pingpong on the draft plus the evidence inventory. Edit. Upload. Submit before the deadline.
Compelling pack language: compelling evidence for chargebacks. Broader unauthorized sibling: respond to a fraud claim. Network maps: Visa chargeback reason codes, Mastercard chargeback reason codes. Related irreversible-submit habit: Catch AI mistakes before you commit.
How the five-model handoff works on a friendly fraud response
Example shape: Processor PROCESSOR, reason code CODE (fraud / unauthorized / not received as labeled), amount AMOUNT, order ORDER_ID, cardholder claim TEXT, delivery or access proof LIST, usage or login notes LIST, customer communications LIST, refund attempts LIST, deadline DATE. Write my merchant friendly fraud / first-party misuse dispute description, map each paragraph to the claim on the case, and list evidence to upload versus omit. Flag soft claims and missing receipt proof. Do not invent proof I did not list. Do not paste full PAN, CVV, bank passwords, or government IDs you are not allowed to store.
Grok drafts. Perplexity through Claude review in sequence. You leave with a tighter description and a gap list. Architecture: Sequential vs parallel AI. Framing: AI second opinion. Debias: Debias AI.

When to skip
Skip for pocket-change accepts, counsel-owned cases, and clear unauthorized use with no compelling evidence where the honest move is accept or refund. Save the free eligible review for mid-ticket and high-ticket cases where usage proof exists but your first draft still lectures the cardholder, or delivery proof is soft and you almost submitted it as-is.
