Learning and study

Practice a specific conversation in another language

Name the situation, your level, and the kind of feedback you want. A vague request like "practice Spanish" gets generic drills. A named scenario plus a request to correct the grammar or vocabulary you are working on makes the session more useful.

A text to start with

I am at about [beginner, intermediate, B1, etc.] level in [language]. I want to practice [specific situation, e.g., asking for directions in a city, or a job interview in French]. Play the other person and answer in [language], using vocabulary and grammar suited to my level. After each of my turns, point out any errors and explain each correction briefly in English. Start the conversation.

Example request. Change the details to fit your situation.

What to check

Each correction should come with the reason for it. If you get a fixed sentence and no explanation, ask why that form is right. If the replies run too long or too complex, ask for shorter ones that stay within what you have studied. A practice chat will not confirm that you are fluent, and it will not cover every accent, dialect, or level of formality you may meet in person.

What to do next

Afterward, choose the two or three corrections that surprised you most and ask for more examples of each pattern. Then write a few sentences using the corrected forms before your next session.
