Create a weekly review for saved links and notes

Review saved links and notes by the use you expect to make of them. Turn a useful item into a next action or file it as a reference; discard what you have checked and no longer need. Put ambiguous items in a dated holding queue for a closer look.

A text to start with

I save links and notes in [apps or places]. About [number] items pile up between reviews, and I usually save them because [common reasons]. Design a weekly review of about [minutes] minutes. For each item I want to decide whether it becomes an action, a reference, a discard or an item needing closer review, and where it goes. Suggest the decision questions and a simple destination list. Do not rewrite or summarize my items.

Example request. Change the details to fit your situation.

Keeping the review short

A title and a short note may be enough to recognize why you saved something. When they are not, inspect the item before making an irreversible decision. Give actions a concrete next step and references a place you will search. For uncertain items, record what needs checking and a review date rather than setting automatic deletion. If the review exceeds your time limit, reduce the batch or reconsider what you save. Preserve items whose purpose is unclear until you can assess them.

Ask another agent to check the result

Check whether each proposed decision has enough information behind it. Flag discards based only on missing titles, age or an expired holding period. Identify items needing inspection and give each a review question and date. Check that actions have a next step and references have a usable destination.

Try one pass

Try one timed pass on a small batch. Count the actions, references, checked discards and items held for inspection. Note which questions slowed you down and whether the destinations were useful. Schedule a separate follow-up for the holding queue if needed. Adjust the batch size before applying the routine to your full collection.
