Customer support
Hand off open support work across time zones
For each open support case, give the receiving person a dated deadline, the latest status, the owner and a next action. State which time zone each deadline uses and when the status was checked. If no one has agreed to take a case, say so.

Conversions and unowned cases
Recheck every time conversion by hand, especially where the date differs between zones or a daylight saving change falls between the two locations. Write the date and zone beside each time. Treat an owner field that says "the team" or "someone will pick it up" as having no owner. Confirm each status is current as of the handoff time, and that each next action is one step the receiver can take, not a summary of history.
Verify every time zone conversion in this handoff, including the date. Then list each case that lacks a named owner who has agreed to take it, each case whose next action is vague, and each status that may be out of date at the handoff time.
Get an explicit acceptance
Send the note through your team's normal channel and ask the receiver to reply with the cases they accept. Before you stop work, follow up on any case with no accepting owner or escalate it to your lead. Keep a copy with the send time so the next shift can see what was transferred and when.
