Summarizing receipts by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. List the merchant, date, amount, and currency for each receipt, and an assistant can produce a structured summary you can check against the originals.

A text to start with
I need to summarize a month of business-related receipts for my own records. I have receipts from an office supply store for $47.23, a parking garage for $18.00, a client lunch for $94.50, a software subscription renewal for $29.99, and a train ticket for $61.00, all from last month. Help me organize these into a simple table by date and category. I will make any decisions about deductibility myself with my accountant.
Example request. Change the details to fit your situation.
What to check in the answer
Add up the line items yourself. The assistant works from the figures you type, so a transcription error in your message carries straight into the summary. If any receipt is in a foreign currency, make sure the summary does not quietly convert it or mix currencies in one column. Labels such as travel, meals, and supplies are only for organizing here. What they mean for your taxes is a question for whoever prepares your return.
Next step
Match each row to its paper or digital receipt before you use the summary for anything. If your accountant wants expenses grouped differently, describe their layout and ask for a revised table. Keep the original receipts.
