College logistics
Coordinate shared items for a dorm room
List what the room already includes, what each roommate plans to bring and the size of the space. Compare the list with the housing office's own policy pages before anyone buys anything, since permitted items vary by school and sometimes by building.

Items that cause trouble
Appliances, extension cords, lofted beds and wall decorations are often covered by housing rules that differ between schools and buildings. An item is not allowed just because a store sells it as dorm gear. Compare furniture dimensions with the room measurements the school publishes, and note whether those are approximate. Record who owns each shared item and what happens to it at the end of the term. Check whether the school already supplies something you plan to buy.
Look at each appliance and furniture item on this list and flag any I have treated as allowed without a quoted housing policy. Say which are still unconfirmed. Also check whether any school-supplied item is listed as something one of us will buy.
Settle it with your roommate and the school
Send your roommate the table and agree on who buys or brings each shared item. Read the housing policy pages for every flagged item and copy the relevant wording into the sheet with its address. If a rule is unclear, email the housing office and keep the reply. Hold off on purchases until the policy is confirmed, and decide before move-in what happens to shared items when you leave.
